Join me on the trek of a lifetime to Everest Basecamp via Gokyo and the Cho La
Join me for the Himalayan trek of a lifetime from April 30th to May 20th, 2017 when I’ll be leading a group to Everest basecamp in Nepal, via Gokyo Ri, the Cho La pass and Kala Pattar.
We’ll visit the beautiful turquoise lakes of Gokyo, ascend Gokyo Ri (this is a walking track, not a climb) with its
amazing views of four 8000 metre mountains, including Everest, cross the Cho La pass (again this is a walk – no technical skill required) have a private puja ceremony at Everest baseamp and spend some quiet time in the mystical Thyangboche Monastery (the spiritual capital of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal). We’ll spend an extra day at Everest basecamp experiencing the tension and thrill of expeditions preparing for the summit bid or even launching their bids right then.
This is a circuit trek so we’ll be trekking into new areas almost every day of the trip and it is right in the heart of the Himalayas, so I’ll share lots of stories about the history of Himalayan climbing and my own expeditions to the world’s highest peaks.
A component of the cost will go to the Australian Himalayan Foundation One Man One Million Dollars fundraising project to help with ongoing earthquake rebuilding. This trek is open to all – no climbing experience is required.
Join me for a fabulous trek to the heart of the Himalaya, visit Everest, experience the amazing local culture and support a very worthwhile cause.
