Over the end of December 2012 through to early January 2013 I enjoyed a wonderful adventure packrafting down the Franklin River with my good friend Liam.  After a quick warm up ascent of Frenchman’s Cap, we launced our rafts on 22 December and paddled for 10 days down a pretty swollen Franklin River.  The usual portages were required but we were highly impressed with both the portability and floatation of the pack rafts.
