Immediately following the Island Peak climb last month, I was very pleased to lead a trek to the Khumbu region of Nepal, taking a group of intrepid hikers to Gokyo Village and up Gokyo Ri (peak), followed by a crossing of the Cho La (pass) to Everest basecamp where we stayed a couple of day before turning our heads for home.  All in all a great trek in support of Gary McCaw’s One Man One Million fundraising initiative for the Australian Himalayan Foundation.  Along the way we were able to visit some of the schools that will benefit from Gary’s fundraising efforts.  And I ran into my great mate and expedition buddy Neil Ward, with whom I climbed Shishapangma in 2009.  A great cause and a great adventure.
